List of Gear that will be required for Beat the Venturers Weekend

As we talked about tonight, we will be going on a weekend away to Lough Dan on the 24th of October. As we know that some of you may not have all the gear to hand, we are giving this list early. If you have any questions or concerns about the gear please let one of the leaders know.

Further details about the event (e.g. cost and logistics) will follow in a later post.

Gear List:

Required
• Brackenstown neckerchief
• Full raingear (Trousers, and Jacket: Must be water proof)
• Sleeping bag
• Ground mat
• Survival Bag (Bivi Bag)
• Eating utensils (Spoon, Fork, Knife, Plate, Bowel and Cup)
• Clothes for two days
• Hiking boots
• Tea towel
• Towel
• Wash gear
• Full uniform
• Spare warm jumper
• hat and gloves
• sun cream
• Torch – preferably a head torch with spare batteries
• A Ruck Sack to Put it all in
• Plastic Bags

Optional
• Penknife (If allowed by your parents)
• Personal first aid kit – a few plasters and whatever you can get
